Kirkner takes the lead in bad excuses for budget delay

In a recent email to Council Members, Finance Chair Richard Kirkner points out that under the Borough Ordinances “apparently the manager has until Dec. 31 to provide us with a budget.”

Kirkner goes on to state that a budget submission in early November is, in his view, “well above and beyond” the ordinance requirement.

Question to Councilman Kirkner: precisely how late a start to a public budget process are you advocating? How much of a New Year’s fiscal hangover will you be giving us?

A quote from THE PHOENIX from Anthony DiG: "Honestly, if council needs 10 weeks to review the budget, then the staff either hasn’t performed their [sic] job or isn’t supported/trusted to perform their [sic] job satisfactorily without detail management from council.”

Notice the '[sic]'s - these mean "It's not mine or the proof reader's fault, it's the way the guy wrote it originally".

Taxpayers - are we really getting our money's worth in paying for his education? Simple mistake or lack of knowledge - 'their' vs 'there'?

Umm, "their" is correct in this case. Fool.

Just seeing this now, so allow my cheese. The "[sic]" crap is abused.

If it is a quote, it is a quote. There is no reason for the [sic] moniker in a quote.

The paper doesn't need to tell us the person is a retard when we can read the quote ourselves. It's either a quote or it isn't.

So i suggest to you when the evening toilet paper puts [sic] into a persons written quote they really mean "[not suitable for management]".
