Doing another line of Krack

Borough Manager E. Jean Krack's "Budget Address" to the Council concludes with the following sentence:

"I ask that Council consider a financial committee or sub-committee of three council persons willing to meet with Mr. Nease and me once a month to provide Council with an accurate update and ability to adjust to any significant trends."

What has prevented the Manager and the Finance Director from providing "accurate updates" at the monthly meetings of the Council's existing Finance Committee?

I thought the purpose of the Finance Committee Meeting was for the Borough Manager and the Finance Director to inform both Council and the taxpayers (from whence all these funds flow) about the state of the Borough's finances.

What am I missing here?

I'm detecting a disturbing pattern in Krack of secrecy and when the choice is between monied interests and the Borough residents, that he chooses the monied interests and tells the Borough residents to "deal." As a person who funds his salary, I find this disturbing and I hope it's an aberation that does not continue.

There's only ONE reason for the suggestion and that's to take any discussions out of the public realm. Very bad!

We already have such a meeting on schedule.

It's the Finance Committee meeting.

It occurs once a month on the 4th Monday, along with the other 5 committee meetings.
