This is your Borough on Krack

The Phoenix reports Borough Manager Krack’s thoughts on streamlining the Planning Commission’s operations. For the article, click here.

So, Council is concerned about its ‘relationship’ with the Planning Commission. (Translation: the PC doesn’t always do what Council’s leadership wants, forcing Council to actually take on the issue and responsibility itself.)

So, PC Member Evans is in favor of curtailing public participation in the PC’s meetings. (Translation: if Evans can’t get everyone he has herded to the meeting to speak into the microphone, no one else should get to speak at all.)

So, Borough Manager Krack wants to ‘shortcut’ things, based on his seven years’ experience in Coatesville. (Translation: Council wants to create a back channel to exercise control over the PC and curtail its independence.)

OK, Council should just eliminate the PC and do the job itself. To paraphrase Woody Allen, they’ll be doing the job with people they love.

The machinery will surely run better with fewer moving parts.

Then Council President Wagner will have surpassed the accomplishments of his predecessor, John “I Can Deliver” Messina.

And Borough Manager Krack will have taken another step in moving Phoenixville toward the greatness of Coatesville.

Limiting Public Participation just smells to high heaven. My reading of the article says that the Planning Commission didn't bite. Instead, public particpation will happen after an applicant presents and before the Planning Commission votes on each issue.

Did I misread this? Public Participation must stay as it's the only way to really communicate with the Borough that the Borough actually listens to.

The new borough manager may be helping along his retirement plan. A prior borough manager got through council and the planning commission a scheme which will shortly yield him several hundred thousands of dolllars.
Knee-jerk reactions aside to reporting that was done after all in the Phoenix, there may be something which is OK if we had the full context.
But this appearance of wanting to squelch the voice of the publice coming after the "trial by fire" support of the CDC before budget season sounds terrible.
Now, if we are saying that there should only be quotas from people coming to say nice things about their landlord who owns slum properties on the North Side, makes money off of the social security checks of old ladies, rips apart group of sincere people of actual faith and wants to replace green space deeded by a man of conscience and town father with a money grubbing scheme to get more checks from the federal government... that might be something worth considering.

You made perfect sense to me and as I read this to my family, they feel you are brilliant. Quite obvious you have been watching the drama of Phoenix Park, St Peters Manager/Developer and the Christianity at its finest!!!

Taking advantage of the elderly and people who fear losing their apts. and church property is horrible.

Hats off to your clear points.

What? is this the space zone or what? I thought drugs were illegal in America? What are you folks smoking? Hey Richy, how about a little more expediency on the posts and quit sleeping on the job. Either you're a blogger or a lawyer (that's funny).

Ken & Rich's BIG Adventure

Its like a movie I watched once a long time ago and the characters are equally as clueless. So while you and Kenny are out bashing the CDC and BC you have this little adventure going on at the same time draining the tax payers money.

How much Richard? Tell us how much this is costing US? Please tell us Richard - we want an answer? You've been complaining long enough about everyone else's finances too long not to have to answer this simple question - HOW MUCH?

Mr. Breuer has no control over how much the Borough is spending on it's defense of something the Supreme Court seems to think is worth looking at to see if it is illegal. You should be asking the Borough Council President or Manager what it's costing the taxpayers. The taxpayers are not funding Mr. Buckwalter's or Mr. Breuer's expenses.

And also to the defender of all things CDC or BC, what the heck does that have to do with this? How about absolutely nothing.

Thanks for the answer Richard. Thanks for the bill.
