Are you a Cassidy supporter?

i am working with a bunch of yahoo administrators who “can’t carry my jock strap”

--–Barry Cassidy, in an email to Councilman Kirkner, June 6, 2007

Don't miss a shot at this desirable local job.

You bet I'm a supporter, the town is coming along nicely. Now whether or not the highly accurate email quote you've put in your post will get him canned is unknown.
To restate what I've posted here already - If you keep poking someone with a stick, it's best to have a mouth guard - simple human nature.
Also - Listen to the Music: Take the worst orchestra you've ever heard and pull out the BarryTone, How does it sound now? Maybe worse, ie. if Barry leaves or is canned - the problem remains.

I believe that said yahoos could in fact carry Mr. Cassidy's jock strap. What I am less sure about is this: If Mr. Cassidy needs a new jock strap, could our yahoos so esteemed by the CATs in Harrisburg buy him a one and make sure it is delivered to Mr. Cassidy before baseball season ends this year - and not "lose" the receipt?

To Anon 8/16 6:01 --

I think you need to explain further what "the problem remains" means.

Personally, I think we have several problems -- Borough Council appears to be filled with amateurs at the art of governance --both of money and of people -- and have filled the top administrative post with a fellow amatuer, instead of a professional. The CDC appears to have its own agenda and its paid staffer appears to be in a meltdown, characterized by an exaggerated sense of his own importance and an inability to work with others.

If I'm missing "the" problem, or there are others, let's just list them here!

P-ville council is a joke. They spend all of their time micro-managing every project to the point of paralysis. "Should the lamp posts be black or blue?" Should the borough manager run the downtown area? If he should, then why have the CDC at all? Let the borough manager run it, with the watchful ‘guidance’ of council. Then they can have endless council debates about every detail. I’m sure they can do at least as good a job on the downtown as they’ve done with our wonderful trash service, the budget, and that giant scar running thru the middle of town called the steel property.

"Problem" number one: John Messina.
Problem number two: his buddy Anthony Digirolomo.

This is like a Robert DeNiro/Joe Pesci team of one who is the "brains" of the outfit and the other can't keep his ego and thirst for power under control.
Then you have Cassidy the crazy Irish guy into the mix.
But this is not a movie. These people are responsible for taking money from taxes and fees, and shaping the way the borough is going to be for quite some time.

Problem number three is Democrats who are an embarassment to the party. The old style politics of self interest of Messina and Digirolmo must be replaced by the type of thing we've seen from Carlos Ciruleos, Tim Daly and even occasionally Herny Wagner who have stated that they know that they are there to represent the people, that the borough manager serves at the pleasure of the representatives of the people and that what is done with the peoples money is to be done responsibly and trasnparently.
Problem number one is the only thing the people have direct control over. Problem two just should not exist and the current council shows no need for any jock straps until and and unless they stop this experiment in cronyism. Problem three is something that could be solved if five gentlemen and one lady looked in the mirror and answered a few questions to the person looking back at them honestly.

"the problem remains" is in reference to the mentioned yahoo administrators. total budget havoc, in ability to pay bills, scratch that - find bills. If ya can't or don't want to pay bills you explain that in October 2006. If you don't get along with someone and you are in a managerial position - then you and no one else is to blame for continued mayhem. "Manage" it.

I'd love to know what Barry is referencing in the 5K he was looking for. More losts bills, receipts, or cash? Or 5k that has held something up?

What was the real reason the street lights out for so long on the 200 block? Anyone know, or is everyone assuming?

On another note, Great concert last night, still waiting to run into a councilman physically supporting the downtown...

Consider who Cassidy is talking about - DiGirolomo & Nease. Does anyone actually disagree with the fact that they can't carry Cassidy's jock strap?
